Excellence in Advertising- The trophies are presented during the Illinois Press Association's annual Advertising and Marketing Convention.

James C. Craven Freedom of the Press Award - James C. Craven was an appellate judge who demonstrated dedication to the preservation and protection of the First Amendment and press freedoms for all Illinois citizens.

Spotlight on Achievement and Spotlight on Service awards recognizing outstanding literacy students and tutors in Illinois.

Elijah P. Lovejoy Award - Students throughout the state compete for the Lovejoy Award.  Lovejoy was a minister, an abolitionist and a newspaper publisher in Alton who was killed in 1837 while defending his rights to publish anti-slavery opinions and information.
